New $100 Tri-Beef Burger - the Rolls Royce of Burgers Combines the Most Expensive and Decadent Cuts of Beef from Three Continents
The Old Homestead Steak House of New York City continues its trailblazing culinary innovation with its debut today of its new $100 Tri-Beef Burger, the Rolls Royce of burgers that combines the most expensive and decadent cuts of beef from three continents. Unveiled at a special media briefing and tasting event at the restaurant's newly opened location at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, the Old Homestead Tri-Beef Burger "tops" the restaurant's 2002 trademarked Kobe burger with a more decadent version.
Created to be what Old Homestead owners Greg and Marc Sherry refer to as the "Beluga Caviar of Sandwiches and Romeo & Juliet of Food," the hearty 20 oz. Tri-Beef Burger consists of the highest grade of corn-fed American Prime Beef, Japanese Wagyu aka Kobe from soybean-nourished, beer-fed, sake bathed and hand-massaged cattle, and Argentinean beef from cattle that roam and graze on the South American Pompas.
The coveted ingredients were flown in fresh and delivered by armored car to a synchronized cavalcade of ten uniformed chefs who grinded, chopped, and basted the beef to be "cooked up" by former executive chef for Donald Trump, Joseph Isidori who was hired ("not fired") to oversee the preparation of this most indulgent approach of the classic burger, exclusively available at the Tony Chi-designed Old Homestead at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
"While some restaurateurs may design their burgers with expensive toppings to embellish their burger fare -- and thus the price, Old Homestead's burgers have always been and will continue to be about the quality beef 'in' the burger," noted Marc Sherry, who along with brother Greg Sherry, also introduced the $19 foot-long, 11 oz., 2" wide Kobe Beef Frankfurter. The decadent dog was introduced to be served with homemade condiments such as white truffle mustard, melted Cheshire cheddar cheese, Holland peppers, and Vidalia onions -- and a side of Kobe beef chili that was a big hit with its first tasters who included Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Bon Jovi, Axl Rose, artist and film producer Julian Schnabel, and Jeannie Most of CNN News who dubbed it "The Top Dog."
Greg Sherry stressed however "that a burger of this magnitude cannot be served with ordinary bottled table ketchup!" So for the occasion, Chef Isidori prepared a signature Chipotle ketchup made with truffles and champagne.
The new burger will be served exclusively at Old Homestead's Boca Raton location, however, burger lovers nationwide can order the Tri-Beef Burger for chic at-home grilling (perfect for July 4th celebrations) beginning today. Marc Sherry noted that the first grouping of burger shipments will be sent to a celebrated list of "burger buffs," including Jamie-Lyn Sigler, Zach Pozen, Jeremy Shockey, Paul Anka, and David Lee Roth.
Greg Sherry added that "the expensive decadent burger is also a charitable burger." Old Homestead Steak House at the Boca Raton Resort & Club will donate $10 for every burger served or shipped to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) of Southern Florida, Inc. (http://www.sfla.wish.org) that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
