PepsiAmericas, Inc. (NYSE:PAS) today announced that it would acquire the Dr Pepper franchise rights for a 13-county area in northeast Arkansas. PepsiAmericas will acquire the rights from the Dr Pepper Bottling Company of Paragould, Inc, which has owned the Dr Pepper franchise in this area since 1929.

PepsiAmericas to Acquire Northeast Arkansas Dr Pepper Franchise Rights
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2004--PepsiAmericas, Inc. (NYSE:PAS) today announced that it would acquire the Dr Pepper franchise rights for a 13-county area in northeast Arkansas. PepsiAmericas will acquire the rights from the Dr Pepper Bottling Company of Paragould, Inc, which has owned the Dr Pepper franchise in this area since 1929.

The 13 Arkansas counties will be serviced from PepsiAmericas' existing facilities located in Jonesboro, Ark., and Batesville, Ark.
Terms of the transaction, which is expected to close near the end of January, were not disclosed.
