    Pittsburgh, PA-based BIG BURRITO RESTAURANT GROUP(founded 1993) has increased by 1 unit for the Mad Mex concept, from 11 to 12 (9% concept growth).  Other company concepts include Casbah (1), Eleven (1), Kaya (1), Soba (1), and Umi (1).  Overall company increase was from 16 to 17 (6% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual concepts, serving Mexican, Asian and American cuisines.  Per person check average is $10-$30+, with full bar service and seating for around 200.  Catering, banquet and online ordering services are available.  Trading areas are OH and PA.

    Boston, MA-based BOSTON BEER WORKS (founded 1992) has increased by 1 unit, from 7 to 8 (14% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual, serving American cuisine.  Per person check average is $10-$30+, with full bar service.  Average seating is for around 500.  Catering and banquet options are available.  All locations are in MA.

    LEGAL SEAFOODS of Boston, MA (founded 1950) has increased by 3 units, from 32 to 35 (9% growth).  These are upscale seafood restaurants with full bar and seating for around 150.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $15-$50+.  Catering and banquet services are offered.  Locations are in DC, GA, MA, NJ, NY, PA, RI and VA.

    Emerging and Re-emerging Concepts

    Concepts with 20 units or less who grew by at least 2 units.

    Tennessee-based AMIGO MEXICAN RESTAURANT has increased by 3 units, from 6 to 9 (50% growth).  This family/casual restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  The restaurants have full bar service and seat around 250.  Catering is available.  All the restaurants are in TN.

    Repeat Growers

    Concepts previously written about in the past 18 months. 

    Las Vegas-based HOT N JUICY CRAWFISH has increased by 1 unit, from 6 to 7 (17% growth) and entered into AZ.  The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $10-$30+.  Beer is served and seating is for around 80.  Trading areas are AZ, CA, DC, FL, and NV.  We last featured this concept on 11/5/13 (20% growth).

    Alpharetta, GA-based MCALISTER'S DELI (founded 1989) has increased by 8 units, from 319 to 327 (3% growth) and entered into NE.  These fast casual sandwich restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Units have seating for about 150 and offer catering and online ordering services.  The stores are franchised and trade in AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NM, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WY.  We last wrote about this concept on 10/1/13 (4% growth).

    LENNY'S GROUP LLC based in New York, NY (founded 1989) has increased by 1 unit, from 15 to 16 (7% growth).  These are fast casual sandwich restaurants open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Seating is for around 30.  Catering is available.  All locations are in NY.  We last featured this company on 9/17/13 (15% growth).
