Sbarro Continues Growth In Brazil With New Restaurants In Sao Paulo, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo And Rio De Janeiro

    Sbarro announced that it will partner with B2Bold to open 80 eateries in Brazil over the next 10 years. This is the second development agreement for Sbarro's in Brazil. Dubai Comercio e Representacoe, Sbarro's first franchise partner in Brazil, has built four units in the past year under a 20 store development agreement signed in 2013.  The B2Bold partnership adds to Sbarro's growing presence in South America, following new eatery openings in both Columbia and Bolivia during the past two years.  

    Partners Fabio Calderon, Fernnando Bauman and Marcelo Calderon, along with B2Bold Director of Development Eduardo Morita kick off the partnership this year, with the first location scheduled to open by the end of 2014. B2Bold plans to open an additional 79 restaurants in Sao Paulo, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo and Rio de Janeiro by 2024.

    "The partnership with B2Bold is one of the largest expansion partnerships we've forged in recent years," said J. David Karam, President of Sbarro. "We're excited to grow our brand in this market with such a prestigious partner."

    Over the past year, Sbarro has significantly expanded its presence in South America with four new stores in Brazil, three new stores in Colombia, and its newest location in Bolivia. By the end of 2014, the company will have more than 10 locations in South America with plans for continued growth throughout 2015.
