Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc. Names Todd Burke Vice President of Corporate Communications

  • Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc. (NASDAQ:PLKI), the franchisor and operator of Popeyes restaurants, announced it has named Todd Burke as Vice President of Corporate Communications. Mr. Burke will lead internal and external strategic communications, and the public and government affairs functions for the global Popeyes brand.

    Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc. (NASDAQ:PLKI), the franchisor and operator of Popeyes restaurants, announced it has named Todd Burke as Vice President of Corporate Communications. Mr. Burke will lead internal and external strategic communications, and the public and government affairs functions for the global Popeyes brand.

    Mr. Burke comes to Popeyes with more than 20 years of experience overseeing communications for globally-recognized companies.

    “Todd’s unique experience leading multi-faceted communications teams for highly respected growth brands makes him highly qualified to lead our communications team,” said Dick Lynch, Chief Brand Experience Officer, Popeyes. “We’re excited to couple Todd’s expertise with our brand equity as we aim to share our story of an authentic, Louisiana-inspired brand with a global audience.”

    Mr. Burke’s experience includes work at JetBlue Airways, where he served as Vice President of Corporate Communications, and helped transform the airline into one of the most successful in the industry. Mr. Burke has also held strategic communications roles at Trans World Airlines, American Airlines, and most recently Pacific Gas & Electric Company.

    Originally from Red Lion, PA, Mr. Burke most recently called the San Francisco Bay area home, and is currently relocating to the Atlanta area.

    Founded in 1972 in New Orleans, Popeyes is a leader in the New Orleans segment of the foodservice industry and is the world's second largest quick-service chicken concept based on the number of units. As of April 20, 2014, Popeyes had 2,248 operating restaurants in the United States, three territories, and 27 foreign countries.
