    Growing Concepts of Multi Unit Operators 

    Concepts that have grown by at least 5% (if less than 50 units).

    Chicago, IL-based BILLY GOAT TAVERN (founded 1934) has increased by 1 unit, from 8 to 9 (13% growth).  This family/casual bar & grill concept is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  The restaurants seat around 200.  Trading areas are DC and IL.

    Arizona-based BLU BURGER GRILL (founded 2004) has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $10-$30+.  Locations have full bar and seating for about 150.  Catering is available.  The restaurants are in AZ, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

    SUNSET GRILL RESTAURANTS of Mississauga, ON (founded 1985) has increased by 11 units, from 33 to 44 (33% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with seating for around 80.  Meal periods are breakfast and lunch.  Per person check average is around $4-$12+.  Locations are franchised and all are located in ON.

    BARBERITOS of Athens, GA (founded 2000) has increased by 1 unit, from 37 to 38 (3% growth).  These are fast casual Mexican restaurants with seating for around 90.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Beer and wine are served.  Catering, delivery and franchising are offered.  Locations are in FL, GA, NC, SC and TN.

    SHAKEY'S PIZZA based in Alhambra, CA (founded 1954) has increased by 2 units, from 57 to 59 (4% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants with seating for around 200. Beer and wine are served.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$15+.  Locations are franchised and are in CA, GA, HI and WA.

    Emerging and Re-emerging Concepts

    Concepts with 20 units or less who grew by at least 2 units.

    Metairie, LA-based ACME OYSTER HOUSE (founded 1910) has increased by 2 units, from 5 to 7 (40% growth) and entered into AL.  These family/casual seafood restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $10-$30+ per person check average.  Locations have full bar and seat around 250.  Catering and banquet rooms are available.  Trading areas are AL, FL, and LA.

    Repeat Growers

    Concepts previously written about in the past 18 months. 

    Henderson, NV-based YOGURTINI (founded 2008) has increased by 1 unit, from 28 to 29 (4% growth).  These quick serve frozen yogurt shops are open for lunch and dinner hours, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Store seat about 30.  Locations are franchised and trade in AZ, CO, FL, GA, KS, MO, NE, NJ, NY, SC, VA, and WA.  We last wrote about this concept on 1/29/13 (48% growth).

    Costa Mesa, CA-based EL POLLO LOCO (founded 1975) has increased by 3 units, from 404 to 407 (1% growth).  This fast casual Mexican restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Unit seat about 60 and offer catering and drive-thru services.  About half the stores are franchised.  Trading areas are AZ, CA, NV, TX, and UT.  We last featured this concept on 10/22/13 (1% growth).
