National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Announces David R. Parsley Endowed Scholarship Fund For Supply Chain Management
The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) announced the David R. Parsley Endowed Scholarship Fund for Supply Chain Management to encourage students to pursue higher education towards furthering their career in food service supply chain management.
The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) announced the David R. Parsley Endowed Scholarship Fund for Supply Chain Management to encourage students to pursue higher education towards furthering their career in food service supply chain management.
This scholarship was named after David R. Parsley, senior vice president of supply chain management for Brinker International, Inc., who is the former chairman of the National Restaurant Association's Supply Chain Management Executive Study Group and was instrumental in the Group's formation and growth. Under his leadership, the Group became a best-in-class forum for networking, relationship building and mutual exchange of information relative to supply chain. The group focuses on supply chain management best practices that have application across the restaurant, food service and hospitality industry.
"The scholarship program at the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation invests in students who wish to become the future leaders in restaurant and food service industries," said Rob Gifford, executive vice president, strategic operations and philanthropy for the National Restaurant Association and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. "For generations to come, the David R. Parsley Endowed Scholarship Fund for Supply Chain Management will serve as a champion for deserving young people to live up to their full potential."
The NRAEF continues to support students demonstrating exceptional talent with scholarship opportunities to realize their vision, fulfill their potential and achieve rewarding careers in the restaurant industry.

Total restaurant and foodservice employment is projected to grow by 11 percent over the next 10 years and the NRAEF is committed to ensuring the development of a highly-trained and professional talent pool through scholarships and educational programs such as ProStart. With national and local support from industry members, educators, the NRAEF and state restaurant associations, ProStart is taught in more than 1,700 schools to nearly 100,000 students across 48 states, Guam and on Department of Defense military bases.
