Quaker Steak & Lube announced today that it ended 2013 with eight new openings across six states. The new Quaker Steak & Lube® restaurants included locations in Plano, Texas; Medina, Ohio; Columbia, S.C.; Pittsburgh Airport, State College and Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Janesville, Wis., and an introduction into South Dakota with the first Quaker Steak & Lube® in Rapid City.
"2013 was a strong year for our brand as we welcomed four new franchisees into our Lube family and signed new area development agreements with commitments to open 15 new Lube restaurants," said Zeb Hastings, vice president of franchise development, Quaker Steak & Lube®. "2014 will be another big year for us, as we celebrate our 40th anniversary and continue to grow our footprint across the United States."
Continuing on this aggressive growth pattern, The Lube® is projecting 11 new restaurant openings in 2014 with two scheduled for the first quarter of this year in Warren, Ohio and Edison, N.J. The remainder will open throughout 2014 in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, Texas, with new markets opening in Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska and Tennessee.
Additionally in 2013, Quaker Steak & Lube® was awarded the festival favorite for the second straight year at the National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, N.Y, winning the last three out of four years. It was also recognized for its Triple Atomic wing sauce, winning first place in the Traditional Extra-Hot sauce category.
The compelling decor, including race cars suspended from the ceilings, motorcycles, Corvettes and motor-themed memorabilia, combined with its craveable food and SuperCharged events, has created a cult-like following for The Lube® for nearly 40 years. The company has more than 60 locations across 19 states and Canada.
