California-based KINDERS MEATS DELI BBQ (founded 1946) has increased by 1 unit, from 15 to 16 (7% growth).  These fast casual bbq restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $6-$12 per person price range.  Units serve beer and wine and have seating for around 30.  Catering service is available.  Stores are in CA and NV.  The company is offering franchise opportunities.

La Jolla, CA-based LADEKI RESTAURANT GROUP (founded 1989) has increased by 1 unit for the Sammy’s Woodfire Pizza concept, from 16 to 17 (6% concept growth).  The company also operates the 1-unit Roppongi Japanese restaurant concept.  Overall company increase was from 17 to 18 (6% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual pizzerias, with an $8-$20 per person price range.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Locations have full bar and seating for about 150.  Banquet, catering and delivery services are available.  The restaurants trade in CA and NV.

Centennial, CO-based GARBANZO MEDITERRANEAN GRILL(founded 2007) has increased by 3 units, from 11 to 14 (27% growth).  This fast casual concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person check average.  Units seat about 40 and offer catering services.  Garbanzo units are franchised and trade in CO.  The company is also the franchisee of 56 Panera Bread locations in CO and OH.

Scottsdale, AZ-based DESERT ISLAND RESTAURANTS (founded 2001) has increased by 4 units for the Ling & Louie’s concept, from 4 to 8 (100% concept growth), entering into the states of AK, ID, NV, and TX.  The company also operates Thaifoon (1) and is a franchisee of Romano's Macaroni Grill (2) and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (5).  Overall company increase was from 12 to 16 (33% growth).  These family/casual Thai restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20 per person check average.  Locations have full bar and seating for about 250.  Catering and banquet services are available.  The company’s restaurants trade in AK, AZ, CO, HI, ID, NV, TX, and UT.

Irving, TX-based CHUCK E CHEESE'S (NYSE:CEC; founded 1977) has increased by 6 units, from 552 to 558 (1% growth).  This is a family/casual pizzeria concept, specializing in children’s entertainment and private parties.  Meal periods are breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.  Per person check average is $6-$12.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 400.  Trading areas are AB, AK, AL, AR, AZ, BC, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, ON, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, SK, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and WV.  Less than 10% of units are franchised.  We wrote about this concept on 6/29/10 (1% growth).

Toronto, ON-based ST LOUIS WINGS AND RIBS (founded 1992) has increased by 1 unit, from 27 to 28 (4% growth).  These family/casual restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person check average.  Full bar is served and seating is for about 90.  Locations are franchised and trade in ON.  We featured this concept on 7/21/10 (9% growth) and on 1/25/11 (8% growth).

Athens, GA-based ZAXBY'S (founded 1990) has increased by 14 units, from 514 to 528 (3% growth).  These family/casual chicken restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$12 per person price range.  Units seat about 90 and offer catering and online ordering services.  All locations are franchised and trade in AL, AR, FL, GA, IN, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, and VA.  We last featured this concept on 9/14/10 (2% growth).

PIZZA PATRON based in Dallas, TX (founded 1986) has increased by 4 units, from 102 to 106 (4% growth).  These are take-out restaurants serving lunch and dinner.  Catering and delivery are offered.  Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, NV and TX.  We last reported on this concept on 5/10/11 when they had a 3% growth.
