    Dallas, TX-based CORNER BAKERY CAFÉ (founded 1991) has increased by 2 units, from 117 to 119 (2% growth).  These fast casual bakery/cafes are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Seating is for about 80.  Catering and delivery options are available.  Trading areas are AZ, CA, CO, DC, GA, IL, MD, MS, NJ, PA, TX, UT, and VA.
     
    Kirkland, WA-based MAD ANTHONY'S INC (founded 1972) has increased by 1 unit for the Anthony’s concept, from 18 to 19 (6% concept growth).  The company also operates Chinook’s (1 unit).  Overall company increase from 19 to 20 (5% company growth).  These family/casual seafood restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $10-$30 per person check average.  Locations have full bar and seat about 200.  Private party facilities are available.  Locations are in OR and WA.
     
    Santa Cruz, CA-based ERIK'S DELICAFE (founded 1973) has increased by 1 unit, from 27 to 28 (4% growth).  These are family/casual restaurants, serving American cuisine.  Per person price range is $2-$6.  Units seat about 60.  Catering is available.  Locations are franchised and trade in CA.

    COOPER'S HAWK WINERY & RESTAURANT of Countryside, IL has increased by 1 unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth) and expanded into IN.  These are upscale restaurants with full bar and seating for around 300.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $15-$30.  Catering and banquets are offered.  Locations are in IL and IN.
     
    MAR Y TIERRA of Redwood City, CA has increased by 1 unit, from 2 to 3 (50% growth).  These are family/casual Mexican restaurants with seating for around 50.  Beer and wine are served.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$10.  Catering is offered.  All locations are in CA.

    BLUE MARTINI of Naples, FL has increased by 2 units, from 8 to 10 (25% growth) and expanded into AZ.  These are upscale restaurants with full bar and seating for around 200.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $15-$30+.  Banquets are offered.  Locations are in AZ, FL and NV.

    Belmont, NC-based BRIXX WOOD FIRED PIZZA (founded 1998) has increased by 1 unit, from 18 to 19 (6% growth).  The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $6-$12, serving beer and wine.  Units seat about 250.  Catering is available.  Trading areas are NC, SC, TN, and VA.  We last featured this concept on 3/3/10 (13% growth) and on 1/25/11 (6% growth).
     
    Wichita, KS-based FREDDY'S FROZEN CUSTARD & STEAKBURGERS has increased by 10 units for the Freddy’s concept, from 44 to 54 (23% concept growth) and entered into CA and NE.  The company also operates Timberline Steakhouse (2 units).  Overall company increase was from 47 to 56 (19% company growth), do to a 1 unit closure of Timberline Steakhouse.  The Freddy’s concept is quick serve, open for lunch and dinner, with a $3-$8 per person price range.  Units seat about 60.  Timberline Steakhouses are family/casual, with a $10-$30 per person price range and seating for about 200.  Between 80% and 90% of the company’s restaurants are franchised.  Trading areas are AZ, CA, CO, KS, MO, NE, OK, and TX.  We last featured this company on 7/27/10 (14% growth) and on 11/30/10 (9% growth).
     
    Toronto, ON-based PIZZA NOVA (founded 1963) has increased by 3 units, from 122 to 125 (2% growth).  These quick serve pizzerias are open for lunch and dinner.  Units seat about 50.  Delivery and online ordering options are available.  All locations are franchised and trade in ON.  We wrote about this concept on 3/16/10 (5% growth). 
     
    East Lansing, MI-based BIGGBY COFFEE (founded 1995) has increased by 7 units, from 116 to 123 (6% growth) and entered into TX.  These quick serve coffee shops are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours, with a $2-$6 per person price range.  Units seat about 50.  Catering, online ordering, and drive-thru services are available.  All locations are franchised and trade in IL, MI, OH, SC, TX, and WI.  We last wrote about this concept on 1/5/10 (3% growth) and on 1/11/11 (7% growth).
