  • Max & Ermas Restaurants American Blue Ribbon Holdings, LLC (ABRH), the parent of the Village Inn and Bakers Square restaurant chains, today announced the completion of its acquisition of the Max & Erma's Restaurant chain.

"We are delighted to add the Max & Erma's casual dining brand to the American Blue Ribbon Holdings restaurant portfolio," said Hazem Ouf, President and CEO of ABRH.  "It is very gratifying that our success over the last year and a half in turning around the Village Inn and Bakers Square chains has put us in a position to acquire another brand."

Mr. Ouf continued, "With a strong heritage and loyal following in its core midwestern markets, Max & Erma's will nicely complement our existing operations and enable us to broaden our geographical footprint.  Our plans are to re-energize the brand and ultimately capitalize on its longer-term growth potential."

Max & Erma's is a leading regional casual dining brand that currently operates 52 company-owned and 26 franchised restaurants. The restaurants are located mainly in the Midwest and Eastern United States.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, American Blue Ribbon Holdings, LLC operates two restaurant concepts under proven and well-recognized brands, Bakers Square and Village Inn – as well as a commercial baking subsidiary, Legendary Baking. ABRH has 261 restaurants in 25 states, consisting of 175 company-operated restaurants and 86 franchised restaurants, not including the Max & Erma's locations. ABRH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fidelity Newport Holdings, LLC, which is owned by Fidelity National, a Fortune 500 company, and Newport Global Opportunities Fund LP.
