  • Carlson Carlson, a privately-owned, global hospitality and travel company, announced that it has completed the acquisition of the majority interest in RHW Hotel Management Services Ltd (RHW).

Pursuant to the announcement it had made on January 13, 2010, Carlson now owns 87% of RHW. RHW is a leading hotel management and consultancy services company in India that has successfully managed Carlson-branded hotels in the country since 1998.

“This acquisition is a natural progression for Carlson as we continue to grow in this key market. We now have a fully integrated India organization which supports our Ambition 2015 growth strategy by strengthening our position as the country’s largest and fastest growing international hotel operator,” said Hubert Joly, Carlson president, CEO and director.

This acquisition follows Carlson’s recent announcement that it has signed agreements to open 75 Radisson®, Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM, Park Inn® and Park Plaza® hotels in Asia Pacific by 2013. Over 50 of these hotels under development are in India. This year, of the 18 hotels that Carlson plans to open across Asia Pacific, 15 of the hotels will be in India.
