The Fancy Food Show attracts a large contingent of international buyers and provides an opportunity for brewers to gain exposure in the U.S. market while advancing the EDP's interest in showcasing American craft beer to both domestic and international trade and media.

'We are excited to be participating in the Fancy Food Show, a domestic show that reaches a global audience,' said Bob Pease, Vice President of the Brewers Association. 'The Brewers Association Export Development Program is designed to help American Craft Brewers sell more beer domestically and abroad. This show is a perfect fit for our program and we look forward to participating for the first time in 2010.'

'We at Lagunitas are thrilled to participate in our first Fancy Food Show!' said Ron Lindenbusch, Chief Marketing Officer for Lagunitas Brewing Company.' We have been collaborating with chefs for the past 15 years and it is our favorite way to make friends and share a couple of beers. We hope to elevate craft beer to the levels that it deserves alongside great food and great wine. We promise to bring only our fanciest and best dressed beers!'

The Brewers Association's Export Development Program began in 2004 with a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture's Market Access Program. Since its inception, objectives for the Export Development Program have remained unchanged. These include the following:

    * Educate international trade and media about the quality and diversity of products offered by the U.S. craft beer industry and about the U.S. craft beer culture.
    * Inform member breweries about opportunities for their products in key international target markets.
    * Complement the industry's own efforts to increase international distribution of U.S. craft beer.

To date, the EDP has been able to promote its members' beer in Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, China, Japan, the Philippines and Australia.
