As part of their 25th Anniversary celebrations, the world-renowned French Culinary Institute has created new scholarships to help high school students, career changers and future restaurateurs pursue their dreams of attending culinary school.
The Gary Apito C-CAP Scholarship, named in honor of the President and Chief Operating Officer of The French Culinary Institute, and the Alain Sailhac C-CAP Scholarship, named in honor of the school's Dean Emeritus, have been awarded to two students served by Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), a national non-profit organization that works with public schools across the country to prepare underserved high school students for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Cesar Gutierrez and Alyssa Bodd, two 19 year-olds from the New York area have each been awarded a full scholarship to enroll in the Classic Culinary Arts program, a nine-month evening career program, that began November 14th.
The new C-CAP Scholarships are the latest in a continuing effort by The French Culinary Institute to offer scholarships to students who dream of a culinary career. Other new scholarships created include an Evening Culinary Student Scholarship for students who are transitioning into the culinary industry and six Restaurant Management Scholarships that will be awarded to prospective students enrolling in the restaurant management course that begins January 27th or January 30th.
