Le Foret, New Orleans is the latest venue to open in post Katrina New Orleans; however, the origin of this establishment, housed in a historic three story building at 129 Camp Street, one block off of Canal, dates back centuries.
Veteran Restaurateur Danny Millan and Certified Master Chef Jimmy Corwell, along with lifelong Louisiana native Margaret Schexnayder have combined forces to bring their passion for Southern living, the delivery of exemplary culinary superiority and respect for an era long past to every corner of Le Foret.
'Le Foret is about excellence and respect,' boasts General Manager Danny Millan, whose career has spanned more than 20 years in various positions of great responsibility at several of New Orleans' most venerable establishments, 'Respect for the traditions of the Old South, for cuisine that has evolved and withstood the test of time and for our guests who come to dine in surroundings that transport them back in time to the 1800s.'
Under the direction of Certified Master Chef Jimmy Corwell, Le Foret's culinary professionals prepare traditional Southern cuisine with a French influence and philosophy that is synonymous with quality and freshness. Corwell's seasonally driven menu focuses on the best produce, seafood and meat Southern Louisiana has to offer. Working with local purveyors, Chef Jimmy Corwell updates New Orleans classics with his personal style, honed over decades of experience in the Napa Valley, France and Southeast Asia.
Le Foret's doors open at 5:30 PM from Tuesday through Saturday for dinner and the restaurant will soon be serving lunch during the week.
