Emeryville, CA-based JAMBA JUICE (NASDAQ: JMBA; founded 1990) has increased by 7 units, from 727 to 734 (1% growth). These are quick serve juice/smoothie shops, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. Per person price range is $3-$6. Seating is limited. Catering is available. Trading areas are AZ, CA, CO, FL, HI, ID, IL, IN, MA, MN, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OK, OR, PA, TX, UT, WA, WI, and the Bahamas, with 33% of stores franchised.

Jacksonville, FL-based WOODY'S BBQ (founded 1980) has increased by 1 unit, from 30 to 31 (3% growth) and entered into NC. These are family/casual BBQ restaurants, open for lunch and dinner. Per person check average is $6-$12. Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 100. Catering service is available. Trading areas are FL, NC, and TN. Between 70% and 80% of the units are franchised.

GOLD STAR CHILI based in Cincinnati, OH (founded 1965) has increased by 3 units, from 95 to 98 (3% growth). These are quick serve restaurants with seating for about 50.
