Pei Wei Asian Diner Initiates a Ramen Revolution with Introduction of New Ramen Dish: Japanese Chile Beef Ramen
Pei Wei Asian Diner announced today the debut of a new dish, conceived to revolutionize the way people think about everyday ramen noodles. Featuring fresh and savory ingredients prepared in Pei Wei's trademark wok style, Japanese Chile Beef Ramen demolishes the notion of dehydrated, pre-packaged dorm room fare.
The new dish combines egg noodles glazed in a soy mirin-chile sauce, wok-seared vegetables and flank steak, topped with a sprinkling of cilantro and a kiss of lime. Beginning August 31, it will be available at all Pei Wei locations.
'People assume the only way to eat ramen noodles is from packaged, dried blocks, but I think that's a disservice to both ramen and Japanese cuisine in general,' said Chef Eric Justice, Director of Culinary Operations for Pei Wei Asian Diner. 'We created Japanese Chile Beef Ramen to show the world that there's amazing flavor to be found in ramen dishes, you just have to defy expectations.'
• The beef can be substituted for chicken, shrimp or vegetables & tofu
• The price ranges from $6.75 - $7.95
• The dish can be ordered according to customers' dietary needs, and also in a reduced-calorie version made with stock-velvet in place of cooking oil upon request
'Fasten your seat belt because the Ramen revolution has begun,' said Chef Justice. 'Our goal is to offer Asian food lovers an exciting and flavorful new experience... and to finally give ramen noodles the redemption they deserve.'
