Website Designed Specifically to Reach Guests On-the-Go
Ruth's Chris Steak House (NASDAQ:RUTH), today announced the launch of its new mobile reservation website for customers seeking dining information and reservations on the go. The website is designed specifically for portable devices such as the iPhone and Blackberry and will complement Ruth's Chris' existing internet reservation system. The mobile site can be viewed via iPhone, iTouch and Blackberry at www.ruthschris.com.
'We appreciate that our guests lead an active lifestyle,' said Elizabeth Solar, Director of Marketing for Ruth's Chris Steak House. 'This enhanced mobile capability will accommodate our on-the-go guests, making it easier to make a reservation anywhere, anytime from their mobile device.'
While the previous site was not optimized for mobile phones, guests were already visiting the website through their mobile devices to make reservations. In order to optimize the experience, Ruth's Chris developed a distinct and usable experience for iPhone and Blackberry users that will allow them to navigate through the reservation process in a more user-friendly manner.
As iPhone and Blackberry are slightly different functionally, the site is customized to suit the unique characteristics of each device. For the iPhone, which is distinctly visual in function, the site maximizes imagery interaction with buttons and pictures that are truly thumb size, and pop-able windows to display larger photos of menu items. While navigation is generally alike, the Blackberry site uses fewer images, a design choice that best matches the nature of the device.
With Ruth's Chris' mobile website, users are able to:
• Make and cancel online reservations from the iPhone, iPod Touch or Blackberry
• Browse through a database-driven location directory featuring Google Maps, phone and email integration
• View the Ruth's Chris menu, including the wine list and pictures of menu items
• View and share Private Dining sample menu PDFs
