B.R. Guest, LLC announced today a series of restructuring efforts, which will include the closure of four locations. They specifically impact: Blue Water Grill in Chicago, IL and Ruby Foo's Upper West Side in New York, NY, both of whose leases were set to expire early this spring, Fiamma in New York, NY, which will become a full-service event space for private functions, and Level V in New York, NY, which will be rebranded and reopened this spring.
"In these tough economic times, businesses are being forced to make some difficult decisions and the restaurant industry is not immune to these problems," said B.R. Guest president and founder Stephen Hanson. "In order to keep our business strong and competitive, we have no choice but to scale back and streamline our company. The restructuring plan will put us in a better position to take advantage of opportunities when the economic climate improves."
All employees who work in restaurants that will be closed will receive a severance package, and B.R. Guest will assist in the transition for these employees as much as possible.
"We thank all of our loyal patrons who have supported us throughout the years," said Hanson. "The staff at these B.R. Guest restaurants dedicated themselves to this business, and we appreciate all of their hard work delivering superior service to our guests."
Since opening its first restaurant in 1987, B.R. Guest founder Stephen Hanson and his team have redefined the restaurant experience through an emphasis on hospitality and quality. Current B.R.
