  • Johnny Rockets Orange County-Based Restaurateur Targets Home State for Significant Domestic Growth

The State of California has been the site of substantial growth for Johnny Rockets, the ever-growing international chain of 275 corporate- and franchise-owned restaurants, specializing in classic American food and entertainment. The Company opened seven of their fifty new 2008 locations in The Golden State and today announced three additional sites under construction, with plans to open at least four more California restaurants, in 2009.

According to Johnny Rockets CEO, Lee Sanders, "To realize some very aggressive growth plans, we are looking to duplicate some of our most successful restaurants in centers of social activity that have broad appeal, built-in foot traffic and an inherent association with fun. In fact, our motto is 'Where the Good Times Roll', and California is a hotbed of lively locales, which are naturally suited to Johnny Rocket's combination of good food and good times."

Johnny Rockets' current California-based destination locations include Fisherman's Wharf, in San Francisco, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade, the beachside art community of Laguna Beach and - home of the very first Johnny Rockets - Los Angeles' trendy Melrose Avenue.

Adding to 2007's 42 California locations, the Johnny Rockets opened last year were comprised of restaurants in Los Angeles' Downtown Business District, the posh Beverly Connection, the new Anaheim GardenWalk shopping and dining center, Chino Hills, Mira Loma and Northridge.

Anticipated future locations include an additional Anaheim restaurant, one in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo, UCLA's Westwood Village, Camarillo, El Segundo and the internationally famous surfing community of Huntington Beach.

Recognizing opportunities for further growth in California and, in fact, around the world, Johnny Rockets is proactively seeking franchising partners and unconventional real estate opportunities in most markets.
