Burger Concept Opens Newest Denver Location at 104th and Federal in Federal Heights
Smashburger, a fast-casual 'better burger' concept recently launched and funded with $15 million by private equity and concept development firm Consumer Capital Partners (CCP), opened its seventh Denver location and ninth restaurant in its system. The new 1,800 square foot Smashburger is located in the Denver suburb of Federal Heights at 104th and Federal (2690 W. 104th Ave.) and employs approximately 20-25 of the most talented fast-casual employees in the industry. This latest Smashburger closely follows the opening of Smashburger's first store in Kansas which began feeding the burger lovers of Wichita this week.
Federal Heights, located directly north of metro Denver, is a residential community with a population of over 12,000 residents. It was incorporated in 1940 and it encompasses almost 2 square miles. The area is immediately surrounded by several of Denver's largest suburbs including Westminster, Northglenn, Thornton and Broomfield. Hundreds of area residents and businesses attended Tuesday's VIP grand opening event, prior to the store's public opening on December 17. In addition, during one of several new hire training sessions, Smashburger employees practiced their skills by serving local area firefighters and police officers-a tradition with every new Smashburger store opening.
'Although Federal Heights is clearly a part of the larger Denver metro area, it also has its own distinct personality, pride and diversity that are a great match for Smashburger,' said Scott Crane, President of Smashburger. 'One of the keys to success for Smashburger is ensuring that we provide an environment that conveys to our local communities that Smashburger is 'their' place. We are eager to become the burger place of choice for Federal Heights and North Denver, and we greatly appreciate all of the efforts the City of Federal Heights and the North Metro Chamber of Commerce have made in support of that goal.'
'Federal Heights is a great community for a growing business like Smashburger,' said Joyce Thomas, Mayor of Federal Heights. 'Of course, people get a great burger, so it's a relationship that works out well for both Smashburger and Federal Heights alike. We welcome Smashburger and likewise, we look forward to Smashburger's support of Federal Heights as we continue to rise to great heights.'
This latest Smashburger is one of eight the Company has opened in Colorado during the past year and a half. 2008 expansion plans also include bringing a better burger to Texas on December 23, for a total of ten stores open by the end of the year.
