Marking 18 consecutive quarters of growth, Bruegger's Enterprises, Inc. today announced third quarter system-wide gross sales of $45.13 million, a 8.7 percent rise over the same period in 2007.
Revenue for comparable sales grew 1.7 percent at company locations and 1.7 percent system-wide for the third quarter ending October 30, 2008.
"Bruegger's 18 consecutive quarters of increased sales is a direct result of our commitment to a guest-focused business philosophy," said Bruegger's Chief Executive Officer Jim Greco. "Fresh, wholesome meals at fair prices in a comfortable setting with memorable service, is what enables us to continue to grow in this challenging economy and our goal is to provide that experience each and every time."
New Menu Items and Locations
During the third quarter, Bruegger's introduced the Farmer's Omelet and continued to promote menu items introduced in Q2, the Brrrueggaccino frozen beverage and the Turkey Apple Club Salad. Bruegger's annual Bottomless Mug promotion kicks off the fourth quarter with a new keytag option in addition to the travel mug and cards.
Also during the third quarter, Bruegger's opened corporate bakeries in Darien, Conn. and Philadelphia, as well as franchise-operated bakeries in Boca Raton and Las Vegas, bringing the total to 283 bakeries in 23 states and the District of Columbia. New bakery expansion will continue throughout the year in existing markets across the country with 8 bakeries set to open in the fourth quarter.
