Legislation travels from New York City to California
Expanding legislative efforts require restaurant chains in California and other jurisdictions to provide nutrition information. HEALTHY DINING provides restaurants with the expertise needed to comply with the new regulations. In collaboration with the National Restaurant Association and with partial funding from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HEALTHY DINING leads the largest restaurant industry nutrition initiative to help consumers easily identify healthier menu options at 55,000+ restaurant locations nationwide. Restaurants ranging from fast food to upscale, participate in the program by offering a selection of dietitian-approved, HEALTHY DINING menu options. Participating restaurants and their approved menu items are featured on HEALTHY DINING's website, HealthyDiningFinder.com.
HEALTHY DINING's team of nutrition professionals offers restaurant companies a full suite of nutrition services, from accurate nutrition analysis (calories, fat, etc.) to allergen identification to consulting services to help restaurants meet HEALTHY DINING's nutrition criteria.
"HEALTHY DINING has been providing nutrition services to the restaurant industry since 1990. We have worked with hundreds of restaurants and analyzed thousands of menu items for nutrition content. No other company in the U.S. matches our experience, expertise or client base," emphasizes Founder and President, Anita Jones-Mueller, MPH. "Another important benefit to our restaurant clients is our multi-faceted HEALTHY DINING Program, which helps them capitalize on the growing consumer demand for healthier cuisine."
The National Restaurant Association has partnered with HEALTHY DINING since 2005. "More and more American consumers are embracing a healthy lifestyle, and HealthyDiningFinder.com is a great way to showcase the variety of options available on restaurant menus. The National Restaurant Association is proud to partner with HEALTHY DINING and encourages every restaurant to join the program," says Dawn Sweeney, President and CEO of the National Restaurant Association.
HEALTHY DINING has attracted the support of many other major stakeholders, including health organizations, employers, health insurance companies, physicians, and others.
