  • Restaurant News Resource Two More Area Directors Sign on to Expand Growth

Squeeze Fresh Smoothies announced today the sale of two new franchise territories in Phoenix, Arizona and San Diego, California. The two Squeeze Area Directors in these markets expect to open 75 stores combined over the next seven years.

"The sale of these two territories brings on two highly qualified Area Directors who will contribute greatly to our rapid national expansion goal of 300 stores by 2010," said Richard Dean, president of Squeeze Fresh Smoothies.

In keeping with its community-oriented focus, Squeeze Area Directors provide franchise owners with unique support, including help in real estate site selection and store construction. Once the store opens, franchise owners receive assistance with marketing strategies, as well as counsel on any operational issues they might encounter.

"Phoenix and the surrounding areas are exploding with growth and the people living in our communities are demanding healthier foods like fresh juice smoothies," said Christopher Erlandsen, Area Director for Phoenix. "Bringing additional Squeeze Fresh Smoothies stores to our area makes sense because of their appeal for the young, fit professionals who live and work here."

"Area Directors like me are locally-based and therefore can advise new franchisees as to the best store location, help guide them through construction and build out, and assist with marketing plans including advertising for their new store," said Paul Papacoulis, Area Director for San Diego. "With the backing of Squeeze's in-depth, hands-on training and their business experience in the smoothie industry, even those who are a little timid about testing the waters as an entrepreneur can live the dream of owning their own business."

All Squeeze stores are locally owned and operated, which allows them to become more intimately involved in the neighborhoods where they are located, and owners get to know their customers and their community. "With a strong support structure offered by area directors Squeeze franchise owners gain confidence from having an ally right there in town instead of far away in some corporate office," Papacoulis continued. "That makes all the difference when a problem arises that the store owner can't solve on his or her own."

In the spirit of giving back to their local communities, Squeeze stores get involved with the Squeeze for Schools program. Squeeze fresh smoothies are sold either in the school or in the stores but the school benefits with a percentage of smoothie sales for that day. This means that while the kids pick the project the community can lend their support by buying smoothies to help raise money.

Squeeze has evolved the smoothie bar concept by bringing together the finest and freshest ingredients available and artfully combining them to create more than 30 varieties of flavorful and healthy products, including fruit smoothies, squeezed-to-order juices and green teas. Squeeze uses Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) fruit, which means it is picked ripe and immediately frozen to lock in nutrients and maximize flavor. In addition to traditional fruits, Squeeze also offers exotics like Acai and Amazon Cherry. Squeeze juice is 100% natural with no sugar added. All smoothies come with a free Squeeze Play nutritional supplement.

Squeeze stores are currently located in Colorado, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Texas.
