Ruth's Chris Steak House, Inc. (NASDAQ:RUTH) announces the opening of a new location in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. The local community celebrated the arrival of the new Ruth's Chris restaurant during pre-opening charity events Friday and Saturday.
Contributions from wine sales for the evening supported the Latitude Foundation, which assists children and families afflicted with genetic disorders.
"Each time we open a new location, we host a traditional New Orleans 'second line' parade," said Ruth's Chris Senior Vice President, Anthony Lavely. "This celebration of our New Orleans heritage led by the Storyville Stompers -- a genuine New Orleans brass band -- is the ideal way to introduce the Ruth's Chris experience to the community."
The new Ruth's Chris is located at 134 West Pierpont Avenue, the historic site of Salt Lake City High School, built in the late 1800s. The restaurant's decor emanates timeless elegance with touches of modern design, with an inviting ivy-laced brick exterior. The two-story restaurant offers private dining facilities for special occasions with friends and family or important meetings with colleagues or clients.
"Chef Brett Barthaloma and I are both proud to carry on the tradition of quality and hospitality that Ruth Fertel established with the founding of the first Ruth's Chris Steak House in New Orleans more than forty years ago," Mark Robbins, General Manager, said. "Her legacy inspires our new Salt Lake team as we welcome guests in the area to enjoy the Ruth's Chris sizzling experience."
People in Salt Lake City will now be able to enjoy New Orleans-inspired appetizers, the finest U.S. Prime steaks, fresh seafood and classic desserts, all complemented by an award-winning wine list. Ruth's Chris Steak House Salt Lake City is open for dinner nightly at 5 p.m.

Dr.
Can't wait to try out the new restaurant. We have been regulars at Ruth's in Palm Desert for years. Truly THE best experience for the money. The salad rivals the steak. 2006-10-29 christopher lund |
