At San Diego-based Jack in the Box restaurants, for instance, it takes an average of 228.9 seconds - about 3.8 minutes - to get the burgers out the drive-through window after an order, according to a new study by the trade magazine QSR, which rates burger, chicken and taco chains.

That's up from 223.05 seconds in last year's report, giving the company the No. 20 position in speed among 25 companies that were evaluated.

Meanwhile, Wendy's maintained its ranking as the fastest ketchup gun on the block. But its average service time jumped from 124.69 seconds last year to 135.7 seconds in 2005, QSR said.
