Eating French fries is never exactly taking the healthy option. And whether the fries are cooked in oils containing high levels of trans fatty acid probably doesn't make much difference to most people who enjoy fast food.
But McDonald's is tinkering with its fries anyway, a healthier blend of oil for its fries at a few restaurants. McDonald's, now headed by Chief Executive Jim Skinner, promised in September 2002 to use a new oil that would halve the level of harmful trans fatty acid in its fries, but delayed its plans-- citing customer satisfaction as a priority.
