|
Announces the signing of an agreement with Territorial Director Craig Melton to open up to 200 Uncle Al's restaurants across the southeast. |
Melton will find and assist individual franchisees to open locations in the panhandle of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and parts of Louisiana. Famous Uncle Al's Hot Dogs currently has 10 stores located in the greater Virginia Beach, Va. area. The chain is expanding rapidly into Florida with one location open in Deltona, three under construction and several development deals signed to open locations throughout the state.
Richard Michael, Director of Marketing for Famous Uncle Al's said he's excited to have Melton join the Famous Uncle Al's Hot Dogs team and is looking forward to seeing restaurants across the south. "With locations in Virginia already and Craigs's locations in Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana, we hope to become not only America's best grilled hot dog but also the favorite grilled hot dog in the south."
Famous Uncle Al's Hot Dogs was started in Virginia Beach, Virginia by "Famous Uncle" Al Stein. A native of Brooklyn, Stein grew up eating hot dogs at Coney Island and started selling them at the age of 10 at his grandparent's boardwalk stand in Far Rockaway, New York. His first unit was such a success locally that he began selling franchises himself in Virginia growing the chain to 10 total.
