Restaurant and retail franchising veteran Paul M. Mangiamele has joined Bennigan's Franchising Co. as President & CEO. Mangiamele takes the reins from David Goronkin, who will be leaving at the end of this month to become President & CEO of a large multi-brand restaurant company.

David Goronkin, an accomplished restaurant industry leader, has joined Bennigan's Franchising Company as President & CEO, the company announced today. Mr. Goronkin, 46, is charged with revitalizing the popular concept, which has more than 100 restaurants throughout the U.S. and several other countries.

Atalaya Capital Management and Bennigan's Franchising Company, L.P. are pleased to announce that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division, has approved the acquisition of Bennigan's Franchising Company by affiliates of Atalaya Capital, including the company's equity, trademarks and other assets, including the Tavern and Steak & Ale brands. Atalaya Capital expects to close on the acquisition on or before October 31, 2008.
