The ninth annual Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, February 25–28, 2010, was once again a successful and unforgettable extravaganza. More than 50,000 guests attended the four-day event, and over $2 million was raised for the Florida International University (FIU) School of Hospitality and Tourism Management and the Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center.

When the greatest names in the restaurant industry converge for FIU School of Hospitality annual fundraiser: 2010 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, presented by Food and Wine Magazine, February 25 - 28, 2010 it will not only be for good food and good fun, it was also for a good cause: Florida International University's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. More than $2 million dollars has been raised for FIU School of Hospitality for student scholarships, and to enhance the experience of students by investing in program, faculty and facility enhancement.

Twenty-nine students are graduating on May 5, 2008 from Florida International University's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management program in China, located in Tianjin, the third largest city in China and the seaport of Beijing.

The South Beach Wine and Food Festival is set to kickoff on Thursday, 2/22/07, and crews are working hard to prepare to greet over 18,000 people over the next four days. Officials are setting up tents, electrical equipment, even porto-potties for the expected crowds expected to descend on South Beach.

The Academia Barilla Best New Student Chef Award has been established by Academia Barilla and Barilla America to recognize students at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Florida International University who exhibit their commitment to and passion for the culinary arts.

Twelve students representing Florida international University\'s School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, and Le Cordon Bleu battled through four rounds of surprise ingredients to become the last chef standing.
