A Black Hawk County Department of Health investigation into the possibility of E. coli contamination at a single Taco John's franchise in Cedar Falls, IA has prompted the franchisor's CEO to speak out, nationally, at a time when the public is particularly sensitive about food contamination allegations following related news in the restaurant industry.

John K. Turner, who founded the Taco John's Mexican restaurant chain, died Tuesday in Cheyenne at age 73.
